Kaplan Sponsored Research Strategies (KSRS) is a highly-specialized consultancy that offers unique and extensive experience in all aspects of academia, industry and government funding.  KSRS is dedicated to helping universities, hospitals, and other major research institutions establish, organize and fund small and large sponsored research projects and centers.  We work with individual faculty, as well as research groups, from inception to sustainment.

Dr. Marshall H. Kaplan, Founder and Principal of Kaplan Sponsored Research Strategies, is a leading consultant on the acquisition of research funding and government contracts.  He has over 35 years of experience in university teaching, research and administration; and has a long record of producing successful results and strategies.  Dr. Kaplan has mentored young research faculty and managed the pursuit of several multi-million dollar centers of research excellence. He is currently a Visiting Professor and the Associate Director of the Center for Orbital Debris Education and Research (CODER) at the University of Maryland.  Dr. Kaplan is co-founder of CODER and is spearheading much of the organizational and development activities. In addition to his academic experience, Dr. Kaplan has served as a senior technology advisor to several government agencies and holds advanced degrees in engineering from MIT and Stanford University. While a professor of engineering at the Pennsylvania State University, he was the recipient of awards for research and professional contributions.
